The website got a little upgrade, I’d like to know if everyone can still view it correctly. I like the new look, but sometimes when we change stuff it’s hard for people to read. Leave a comment if its jacked up. Last time I updated I was in Gloucester, MA and had won day 1 to take the New England series leader jersey. It was sweet, I won my first big UCI race and couldn’t have been happier with how everything went. In cycling the mood changes so quickly. I finished the weekend off in Gloucester a bit disappointed. Sundays race was crap. I ended up 9th place and its not that it was a bad result, I was just plagued with bad luck all day, broke stuff on my bike, had course tape blow into my bars and I hit the deck pretty hard. ( I know I’m a whiner…)So hard that I was just laying on the ground slithering around like a snake that just got run over. I really thumped myself and it took me a few to get it together to get back going. That left me kinda pissed and fueled my fire going into the Granouge / Philly weekend. Granouge is probably one of my favorite races of the season, it’s tight turns, technical off cambers and steep ride/run up suits me well, just a course I really like. TJ won, I was 2 and Wicks was third. garnougepod.jpg Dr.Barry (Jelly Belly chiropractor) who is local to the Philly area came out and gave Tim J and I some work after Saturdays race. Thank you Barry! After we spent an honest 9 hours in the car on the way down to these two races, it was really nice to have Barry help us out, I felt a whole lot better after his work and Sundays race in Philly was awesome, my back felt great! And it showed! wissahickonpod.jpg If your a reader / rider in the Philly area, look him up! Today was the first day it was cold and raining out in MA. I train pretty good on Wednesdays so I was happy when the rain let up for a little while. I was doing some intervals out at one my favorite climbs in the area and they were doing construction just after the start of the climb, so I had a little delay from that, then did a race with the mail lady, anyone ever have that happen? If you haven’t, it goes like this, the mail person stuffs mailboxes as quick as they can in order to either stay in front of you or pass you. Shortly after they stuff the mailbox if you’ve gotten past them, they floor it, get by you fill another box and step on it, until they have to finally concede when they get a ton of mailboxes all at once. So I was able play that game, meanwhile slaving away at the pedals… Then I got the same thing from the school bus driver, same story, substitute mail for kids instead. I assume the bus driver got radio’d in by the postal worker, who probably got radio’d in by the police officer down at the construction site… And thats kinda how the day went here in Hadley. I’m flying Friday to Louisville for the first USGP of cross’. It should be pretty good. With United not taking the vouchers for bikes anymore I’m flying Southwest a lot now, they have so many fast cheap flights out of hartford its hard to not fly em’. I’m looking forward to the new venue and seeing what Kentucky’ has to offer. Check out Sam Smiths cyclofile from the last two weekends. One from Gloucester and the other from last weekend in Philly. In the second one, Wicks pulled a good one out. It’s a little like Trebon at Hoogerhiede for those in the know. haha. Check em out. C-YA!

I got one!

It’s been a couple weeks and a lot of racing has gone down, but I won’t bore you with all that, if your here at my website, you’ve seen the results and gotten the race reports long ago, which is good because blow by blow race reporting is becoming less and less fun to write. I’ll let velonews rip those out and I’ll tell you cooler things like how the Vegas cross’ race was a blast. Timmy J and I took a pimp, tinted out, 20+ inch rimmed, GMC Denali up to the venue and made Danny (my road manager) pay for it since he couldn’t blow off dinner w/ the sponsors to take us up there!!! Vegas was a great race, tons of industry crowd and cross’ fans, many of them hammered, just havin’ a blast. The mood that night was impressive and I’m looking forward to next year alreadly. Last weekend were the Long Island races and the promoter Myles got the world champ to come out and race with us…I had a bad day on Saturday but did damage control and ended up 5th, Sunday I was 3rd and making the podium was huge. Sam Smith made an awesome video of the race which I’m going to post. Vervecken (world champ) wasn’t his normal euro leg ripping-off-self so we had a good time throwing some attacks in at him. Those world champ stripes should have just been a bullseye because he was a marked man. Timmy J couldn’t fiqure out the Tom Tom GPS deal when we were trying to get over there, so we had a little trouble but eventually we got there photo_100607_002.jpg …I even had a hard time figuring it our I have to admit. We finally did get there and some of vervecken’s fans were staying at the same place, they couldn’t rent a car aparently and had the local police hook them up with a ride home from the race! Hilarious! Belgians are good talkers! photo_100607_003_1.jpg So now the big news, Clinton Sparks, the DJ I speak of regularly here on my blog, who probably doesn’t even remember me from the one time I met him……..finally motivated me enough and I went out and bought the turntables I’ve wanted for many many many years. photo_101207_001.jpg Probably since high school to be exact. I bought technic 1200’s and this technology ’serato’ that converts mp3 to vinyl. It’s pretty sickkkk. It’s been stealing up some of my time which is probably a good thing. I started this update about a week ago and i’m finishing it now, so the most current news, extra exclusive…I just won the first race on the New England series in Gloustah’ Massachusetts and got the series lead! photo_101307_002.jpg whoohoo!
