Enough already!

Man…I wanted to see Alberto win that monster today! After he didn’t and then Michael getting thrown to the curb by Rabo and then sacked, I couldn’t be bothered, so here I am writing an update instead. My Jelly Belly mates were racing in China all last week and I’m impressed with Alex’ 4th place on stage 9. It looked so close, either way 4th place is a great result! However, I am pissed I wasn’t able to make it to China, but it would have been too hard to soon for me. Plus visa’s and tickets had to be done so far ahead of time, I wasn’t even in the picture when everything was going down. The toughest part of not racing in China was seeing a lot of the Fidea boys from europe over racing with my teammates in China! It made me so disappointed to not be there, I think it added fuel to the fire and really motivated me to get skinny and even more serious about training. At this point I’m red-lined on excitement. Tonight I went over with Joe from Joes Garage bike shop in Haydenville,MA. It wasn’t like every day when I stop in to talk smack on my roomates with Joe. Today was all business, we were headed over to Easthampton to help map the route of the cross’ training race that happens out here in western, MA every Wednesday night starting sometime in September. Last year I didn’t make it over to the race, not even once because I was training in the morning so I could go to class Wednesday nights = Lammee. I’m finally going to be racing again next weekend at Bank of America and I raced sat and sunday locally with some mini success’. Sundays road race had A LOT of climbing, I’d say somewhere around 7000 ft for 72 miles. Sunday and I was trying my hardest to really push myself to my absolute breaking point. I didn’t quite get into the early move because it was so hilly and I don’t have that sustainable snap yet, OR a lot of climbing in the legs, but I managed to hurt myself pretty bad! I’ve missed the pain from racing so much these last couple of months and now I’m getting some sensations that finally things are coming together. My left leg has been really good recently and I just read that Dave Z is having achilles problems from his NEW shoes. I can say with confidence that DZ either A) didn’t get the memo about how we don’t wear new shoes at big events just a couple weeks before it starts. B) Read my site thought it would be something cool to try out and decided why not give it a roll. OR C) (This one has the highest probability of all)…DZ, Probably doesn’t read and or care about my website, nor did he know I have a web site, he probably didn’t know I haven’t raced since tour of cali because of new shoes and pedals, with pain that started in one place and migrated, pretty similar to what he said happened to him, I’d also go as far to say he probably didn’t even know I was at TOC. Anywho, Sam Smith, the producer of transitions (the cyclo-cross dvds) just e-mailed me a new ‘teaser’ of his new film which will have some interesting and funny info about me in it come September when it’s released. I’ll leave you with the teaser. Hope to see everyone at BOA! SEEYA!
