Big Yawn
Gossip January 24th, 2007Like I bear out of Hibernation I’m back on my bike and feeling good.
It’s been nice weather here in Massachusetts lately ussually somewhere in the 30’s and I don’t mean celcius, for my belgian friends! It’s not the cold weather that bothers me, its more the 30minutes it takes to get ready to get on the bike, starting out putting on base layers and jersey after jersey really cracks me, but I’m heading to sunny San Diego next week to train with my teammates and get my new gear which is one of the best parts of being a pro bike racer. A couple years ago this is some of the kit we got at camp. i just got some new FSA carbon Time Trial bars and I can’t wait to get those put on my bike and put to good use. I talked to my usual crew, the treefarmer who had just been down to shimano and picked up the new form fit shoes for himself and wicks headed back to Belgium and it looks like he ran top 10 in Hoogerhiede. My favorite part of the video I posted below is him, doing the wobble over his top tube, please do take a look and have a laugh its only a minute long and halarious. Also talked to Ben Brooks my old ‘mate on JB, tells me his first race is going to be Het Volk and he’s heading over for training camp in New Mexico with his teammates, hope they are going south, I know santa fe isn’t warm right now. Looks like Jonezy and I are going to be doing some training up at Big Bear for the week between california and team camp. I’m looking forward to 7000 ft and some sun on my face. I guess thats all I got, hope I can find the enegy to write at team camp and show off some new pictures of the bikes and kit.

J-man,
Good luck this season, and I feel your pain with this weather here in the east. I must be getting older because my cut temp this year is 35 and above. Haven’t been doing much training, getting old and fat. Soak up some of that warm SD sun for me, later John.

Dude, that video is so funny. I could probably watch is straight for an hour and not get bored of it. I was laughing SO hard, especially Ryan walking his bike around the corner. How about the guy who’s DFL and just keeps turning the wrong way until he slams into the fence head on. Plus all the really good guys just stacking it like Vervecken… Priceless.
By the way, quit complaining about the weather back home, I’ve been checking it and it’s been cherry. At least you didn’t move halfway across the country to get snowed on every weekend and get maybe a few days every week above freezing. Then again, you’re not a Masshole so I can understand if you can’t handle it…
