There is one race on the calendar everyone gets ready for and thats nationals! I’m pretty excited for this Saturday since the championships are in Rhode Island and I don’t have to go flying to Portland mud-puddles or Kansas city cold weather. This last weekend was the W.E. Stedman race in Rhode Island. Timmy won again…and I was second, but close, which is a good feeling. Everyone I know showed up to watch, my friends from Connecticut, my old training bud’ Craig Lipka who I spent countless hours with on the roads as a junior and all my family who still live in New England were on course, screaming for me, it was great! What else…? I didn’t race Sunday so I could study for the two final exams I have this Wednesday and then get my bikes and stuff ready for nationals and Belgium. A HUGE thank you to Tom McDaniel, the promoter of the Granogue UCI race in PA. because Tom helped me financially; I am able to head over to Belgium with Geoff Proctor and duke it out with the euro cross’ gods. I’m really excited to get back over to the racing in Europe and hope to get back over there a bit more next year. I downloaded the new eminem cd “the re-up” off itunes this week and if you like eminem, he’s back with his friends and it’s pretty good, so check it. Some friends of mine from Belgium are coming to see New York City, hang out and cheer at nationals, so if you see a big Belgie with Mr.Jelly Belly
, be sure to say hi and pick up some sportbeans. Seeya!
One more race…Until Belgium!

Saturdays trifecta box- Wicks, Johnsons, Powers
Superfecta- key Johnsons, Wicks, with Powers, Trebon, Wells, Craig
The race favorite is Johnson, he seems fit and in good form, Trebon and Wicks will work to set the pace as always with the challenge of the second group, Powers, Craig, Wells, White, McCormack, Schouten, and Baker will need to watch for the Johnson rush and move accordingly. Trebon has been in Europe, travel can effect your fitness and Wicks maybe the freshest racer to ride. Powers has been consistant and maybe sitting on a big race, longshot to finish on the podium is Craig he seems to find a way to stay clear and finish big for the feature race. The weather looks good and only light rain scheduled for Wednesday, course should be clear and fast.

since johnson won and you are second at least you would win the straight class if they separated on sexual preference.

Just wanted to say great job on the result this weekend. I still think you could’ve caught Tim, but there’s always Nationals… I’ll be there to spectate, cheer you on and work the pits for you if need be, so let me know.
Also, we need to get in some long miles this spring when you get back from Europe. See you in RI.

I’d bet on those odds for Whitey, he ate a pint of ice cream for breakfast the other day. He gets wicked fast when he eats cheese and ice cream!

The Page presents has arrived, much work has to be done in order for a placing at nationals for this perrenial cross racer. I’m sure he will get the call up to set the excitement level hype. Racers remember training is much different than racing with positioning impact stay clear of Page the fast and furious pace will create openings for errors and mishaps as the spills and thrills of this race unfold. Fatigue factor inevitable.

Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.
