I’m not a gambler really, geographically I should be considering the worlds two largest casinos are only 10 minutes drive from the hometown in Connecticut, which brings in some real characters, I’ll tell ya. At least once a week I have some Jerszy’ guys in a mercedes or NY mobsters driving cadilacs stop me and ask “heyyuh, do yu kno’ wur I gets ta’ 395…you kno…foxwoods, mohegans sun?” I ussually find the time to help them out considering some people that don’t do as they’re told can end up with cement shoes at the bottom of the Hudson…catch my drift? Getting back to Le Tour. I think Floyd has it sewn up, the interviews he’s had lately are good reads, outdoor mag and bicycling are both halarious. As I sit here and watch the time trial I can’t believe what a different race it is versus the last couple years.
Back on the domestic scene its been a lot of the same. Riding. Putting in those hours I missed while I was sick. I drove up to Mike Jones place in New York to relax and get in some good riding. Our annual training camp was hot and humid but all the riding was quality.
The riding around Mikes place is hard. A lot of steep hills, even more then CT, which suprised me. We only got into one girl fight and he left me in Utica that day. http://tinyurl.com/pr3nb Of course we made up and apoligized to each other via text messages while we each rode home solo. Soon after we were in the row boat enjoying a couple miller lights watching his city go under water like atlantis. That same morning as we were getting ready to ride, Mike’s power was out because of the rain storms that crushed NY, He brought his car up to listen to some tunes and his e-brake popped and we almost watched mikes car go to Philly. I’d say the funniest part of that entire deal was watching mike run outside butt-naked to save it.
The green diesel truck I brought pulled that baby out noo problem. I actually didn’t know what was going on or I might have dropped my pants and ran after it too. We even did our civic dutys by stopping in a down pour to help change a flat tire on some womens car.
At least she was honest, she told me she had planned her pulling over spot knowing we would help …Mike had to use his euro pipes to get the lug nuts off, which was good, because I had nothing. I’m looking forward to Altoona at the end of the month, its been a long time since I’ve been able to race with the boys and it’s gonna be sick to be out racing again!
My $$$ is on Landis
